5 Halloween Costume Ideas For Fall 2016

Halloween is creeping upon us, and if you are a procrastinator like I am, then you have no idea what you are wearing this year. Good news for you, I have done the work for you. I decided to create a blog post to share with you guys that not only includes my favorite Halloween ideas, but also direct links to find the items to make it come to life. I teamed up with Rent The Runway this year to create my Halloween costume this year as the fabulous, Anna Wintour. I loved the idea of actually being able to rent my costume this year as opposed to doling out a lot of money for it to be either thrown away or shoved in a drawer somewhere. So all of the costume ideas that I am featuring today can be recreated using Rent The Runway pieces.

I chose to be Anna Wintour this year because I have not seen a lot of people recreate this costume other than Kim Kardashian. It was a fun and simple costume to put together last minute. So funny story, I purchased a wig to wear with bangs and all; the hair looked like straw, and it made the shape of my head look deformed (it was embarrassing). I wasn’t left with any other option than to use my hair. Creating this fake bob was quite simple, I just put my hair into a ponytail and clipped the ponytail underneath the top part of my hair. After the ponytail was secure, I just pulled out the hair somewhat to form a fake bob. I must say it looked pretty good and looked like I chopped my hair off. The only part I wish that I could have had were the signature Anna Wintour bangs that would set the entire costume off. I, of course, had to go with professional wear, so I am dressed in a Moschino tweed jacket and a knee length shift dress. For accessories, I noticed that she always has some jeweled statement necklace on, carrying a maroon clutch and of course, you can’t forget her signature all black designer sunglasses.

I love that Halloween is the perfect opportunity to dress up as someone else you look up to and try something new for a day. I hope that this blog post is helpful when picking out your Halloween costume for fall 2016. To shop any of these looks including mine, just click on the image of the item you want to check out and it will direct you to the exact spot that you need to be. I hope you all have a spooky, fun-filled Halloween this year.
