Finally, after a few years of dealing with this issue, I made the decision to find a solution. With that said, I am happy to introduce to you, my new favorite hair brand TRUHAIR by Chelsea Scott. So in this post, you will learn easy ways to cover up your roots at home in-between salon visits.

(Notice how much lighter my roots are than the rest of my hair; that is not lighting by the way)

  1. First, let’s grab our new Volumizing Paste to begin. Then we will want to apply a small amount to the roots of our hair. Your hair can dry or damp for this step. Dry shampoo naturally lightens your hair by removing excess oils and impurities. When our hair is oily, the roots can appear even darker. So that is why this step is a must!
  2. Second, try to change up your hair part. Now, this can be tricky for those who already have a stubborn part. If you change up your part, it can make the roots less noticeable. So definitely give that a try!
  3. Another way that you can cover up your roots is by applying the Color & Lift Root Color Powder. Simply brush the product on the part of your hair. Rotating the brush will help to blend the color in with your hair.
  4. Next, let’s cover up the roots along our hairline. The best product for this step is the Color & Lift To Go Precision Hair Liner. Gently pull your hair up around the hairline and apply the product. You will have more control over this product due to it’s smaller size.
  5. Finally, use a blow dryer on a low setting to add a little more fullness to the hair. The fullness of the hair should help to conceal those unwanted roots of yours.
