How To Install Clip-In Hair Extensions – Featuring Bellami Hair

One of the things that I am probably the most self-conscious about when it comes to my appearance would be my extremely thin hair. Hair length is something I can achieve, but when it comes to volume I have literally tried everything and nothing has ever worked for me. Previously I was not a fan of hair extensions because I was misinformed that it would be damaging to my hair. I was never even told about clip-in extensions until 2 years ago when one of my friends shared with me that she started wearing them. Her hair looked amazing and I could not tell at all that she was even wearing clip-in extensions at all. I have always preferred a more natural look on myself. I never wanted someone to look at me and automatically know that I was wearing extensions. Being the nerd that I am, I actually did some heavy research on what brand I should try out first.

My first set of clip-in hair extensions were by Bellami Hair in the fall of 2014. I must mention that I was not even blogging at this point. So although the hair featured in the post was sponsored, the hair that I have been wearing the past 2 years was not. I wanted to share with you guys that because I didn’t want you guys to think that I am only wearing them because it was sponsored. I love Bellami Hair extensions, and I have always worn them. I will admit that I tried two other extension companies within that 2 year period. Only to see for myself if there were any differences in the quality of the hair. I will say that I always came back to Bellami Hair because the quality is just that amazing.

Like I mentioned earlier on in the post, I always want my hair extensions to look natural and not bulky in any way. I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to try out the new Kylie Hair Kouture extension set by Bellami Hair. The main reason why I was so excited is because it has InvisiWeft! Those of you who are new to the clip-in hair extension world, this means that the weft (the part that clips into your hair) is seamless so that it lays flat on your scalp making them virtually undetectable. Each strand of hair is fused onto each InvisiWeft reducing the shedding and tangling, which will lengthen the lifespan of your hair extensions. All of that is exactly what I have been looking for in a hair extension set but so hard to find! You will love the comfortable, voluptuous feel of these hair extensions.

Feel free to reach out to Bellami Hair and email them an image of yourself to receive free advice on what color of extensions that you need to match your hair. I am wearing Dark Brown (2) which is the perfect match for my hair color. I highly advise that you take this step when purchasing extensions because once you open the main part of the packaging you can not return it. You can only open the tester piece portion to receive a full refund for your Bellami Hair extensions.

Now that you have ordered your Bellami Hair extensions, now it is time to learn how to install these beauties.

For starters, I decided to include a before and after photo so you can really see a difference in volume. My hair is naturally longer (about 19 inches) and the extensions that I am wearing are 20 inches long. I was more focused on the volume so as you can see my hair looks so much fuller with my new extensions in.

Step One: Section Your Hair

You want to make sure that your hair is clean for starters so that your extensions blend together well. I usually add a texturing spray to the roots of my hair so that the extensions stay in place better. I section my hair off using a simple plastic hair clip, starting at the neck working my way to the crown of my head. I put all of the extensions in for this tutorial (10 total wefts); however you do not have to wear all of them at once. I just wanted you guys to see the total amount of volume you can achieve with them all in. For this step, just section your hair the way that you prefer so that the extensions lay flat.

Step Two: Installation

You want to try to clip the hair extension as close to the hair line as you can for a more seamless look. Listen for a clicking noise each time you press down on each clip on the weft to ensure that they are secure. The line where you sectioned your hair should be pretty straight so that your extensions lay down well. Tip: I always tease my hair in each extension before placing them so that the clips do not move.

Step Three: Blending

The goal is to make the hair extension wefts unnoticeable so what I do is tease the top part of my hair so that is full enough to cover them up. After you tease it completely, lay it down covering the highest weft that is placed. I always comb through the top layer of my hair to make sure that it looks more blended (you do not want ratty looking hair). Once you have the extensions blended and your hair is looking so good. Make sure that you bank of selfie and share it on social media with the hashtag #bellamihair. You might just get reposted by them!

I hope that this blog post was very helpful for you when it comes to selecting and installing your new set of Bellami clip-in hair extensions.
