So I just got back from my first New York Fashion Week trip and man, that went by fast! In the past, I could never go because of being enrolled in full-time graduate school. So needless to say, I jumped at the opportunity to go with a few blogger friends of mine. To be completely honest, I intended on posting daily throughout NYFW, but each day went by so fast. Before I knew it, it was late at night, so I was left with the option to either blog or sleep for a couple of hours. Sorry guys, but I need my sleep lol
Next time (hopefully this coming February), I will be more prepared and provide daily content during my trip. Now that I have attended my first NYFW, I wanted to share my experience with you guys. Today, I am including everything from runway shows to daily outfit details from the first two days of my NYFW trip. So keep scrolling for all of the juicy details!
Day One: NYFW Recap + Outfit Inspiration
My sister Cassidy & I had a very early flight out of Dallas, TX on this morning, arriving at the airport at 4:00 am, yikes! For my travel outfit, I went with something comfortable for the airport but also stylish for after we land. I didn’t want to risk not being able to change clothes prior to my first show.
3 PM - Noon By Noor Runway Show
Finally, it is time for my first New York Fashion Week runway show. After settling into the hotel room, I did not leave much time to get ready, so I had to rush to Skylight Clarkson. I could not think of a better designer to kick off my NYFW experience, than Noon By Noor though. The designs by Noon By Noor were phenomenal! I loved all of the red and white that presented throughout the show. I am a huge fan of the color red, so I am so glad to see that it was a big part of Noon By Noor’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection. I attended this show with one of my other blogger friends, Nita Mann from Next With Nita (sound familiar? she's been on here before).
One thing that surprised me was how quickly the runway show ended. I was expecting it to last about 30 minutes (total newbie, I know) but it is over after 10-15 minutes. There is something about the runway that is really inspiring to me. I want to recreate all of the looks that Noon By Noor featured in their runway show, so beautiful!

Checked Dress: Zara
White Top: Neiman Marcus
White Low Kitten Heels: Boohoo.com
4 PM - Riviere Agency Fitting
So after Noon By Noor, I had to go to my next appointment in the city quickly. Luckily, Lexus was kind enough to drive bloggers after shows at Skylight Clarkson to the next stop. I know this doesn’t sound like much, but I was so grateful for Lexus doing this for us because it is so much faster than waiting for a Taxi or Uber.
I loved getting to meet the Riviere Agency team who puts on some of the incredible shows during NYFW. One of the team members, Jonathan was so kind to invite me to their office for a private fitting to wear designer pieces by Dan Liu, Leanne Marshall and Vivi Zubedi at their fashion shows. We had so much fun hanging out with these guys during the fitting, and they truly made my first NYFW experience one to remember. Anytime I needed Jonathan during one of these shows, he was there to help out, which meant so much to my sister & I!
7PM - Sam Edelman NYFW Refresh Event
So after the dress fitting with Riviere Agency, we went back to the hotel to get ready for the Sam Edelman Event. We went to this event with my sweet blogger friend, Kathleen Post from Lemon Blonde. Later we met up with our other roomies Nicole Leffew from Where Your Heart Is Now and Karina Reske from Karina Style Diaries. We all had such a great time at this event celebrating Sam Edelman’s latest collection.
One of my favorite moments of the night has to be when I was able to meet Sam Edelman. He was so kind; we chatted about Dallas and his new collection. A pinch-me moment, and of course, I completely forgot to ask for a picture with him. The event was a lot of fun! We were able to get our makeup and hair touched up by Glam Squad.
After the event, my roomies & I went to eat pizza, yes again! After catching up, and everything we went back to the hotel to get some sleep before a hectic second day of NYFW. I would say all in all, that my first day of fashion week was a success!

Day Two: NYFW Recap + Outfit Inspiration
10 AM - Bollare Style Suite
One of my favorite parts of New York Fashion Week was probably hanging out with the Bollare team at their Style Suite Event! I was able to hang out with so many bloggers that I met during fashion week at this showroom visit. I was able to pick out some amazing pieces by brands that they carry in their showroom, and even customized a denim jacket by Wrangler. We snapped a few photos in their cute disco ball decorated room, and then headed off to our first runway show of the day.
12 PM - Galtiscopio Runway Show
Galtiscopio is one of the designer fashion shows that Riviere Agency invited me to attend. The runway show was vivacious, kicking off with a performance by Ray J which was a huge surprise to everyone attending the show. The collection included a lot of sparkles and shine mixed in with some edgier pieces. I was excited to have seats at this show because it was packed! At the end of the show, there was a second performance by King Combs and Bay Swag which was also fun to watch!
Galtiscopio Outfit Details:
Leopard Print Dress: NA-KD
Longline Kimono: Vivi Zubedi
Red Ankle Boots: ASOS
2PM - Boohoo Gifting Suite
After the runway show, we rushed to the Boohoo gifting suite which was a lot of fun! I love being able to put a face to a name. So it was nice to finally meet the cool girls that I work with at Boohoo. Kathleen, Nicole & I had a blast trying out some pieces from their latest fall collection. Boohoo really does have some amazing pieces that are actually affordable!
5 PM - Finally Food
After the Boohoo Gifting Suite, traffic was insane and I unfortunately missed two shows back to back. I would say that is probably the most frustrating part about NYFW is missing events simply due to traffic. So we eventually just gave up and went to grab food before going to the Michael Costello presentation.
7PM - Michael Costello Presentation
The Michael Costello Presentation was really cool to me. Keep in mind; this is my first presentation to go to for a designer, so I had no idea what to expect. We went into this large building full of live models standing around wearing Michael Costello’s spring/summer collection. The dresses were beautiful, and it was fun being able to take photos of the models as you walk through looking at each design. My sister Cassidy who is our photographer for the trip took some amazing pictures of the models wearing Michael Costello.
Michael Costello Outfit Details:
Ruffled Blouse: La Redoute
Denim Dress: Gentle Fawn
Printed Ankle Boots: Zara
So that is everything for my recap blog post covering day one and two of my first NYFW trip. Come back tomorrow for the second part of my fashion week experience and more!
