How To Organize Your Entire Life Using One Planner

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Do you want to organize your life this year? If that is the case, then you have come to the right place! We all live busy lives, and at times it can be too much to handle. A daily planner is the best way to stay on top of things. A planner allows us to dump all of the ideas in our heads on paper and put them into action. It is important to find the perfect planner since you will be using it every day. You need one that helps organize your entire life not just a portion of it.

Meet My Life Planner

My favorite brand when it comes to planners is Erin Condren. I have been using their life planner since I was a sophomore in college. A lot of people plan their life using online tools. I have to write things down to remember them. So I stick to using a written planner over an electronic one. I am happy to share with you why I love to use my Erin Condren to organize my life.

  • Design Customization

First of all, you have the choice of either selecting an interchangeable or luxe cover. The interchangeable covers are my personal favorite because you never stuck with the same look. Also, they recently added new designs to the collection. The luxe cover is permanent with a metallic and leather-like appearance. In addition to the exterior design, you need to choose an interior color as well. There are two options now available which include colorful (vibrant tones) or neutral (gray tones). Finally, you can choose from four different coil options: gold, platinum, rose gold and black. Don’t forget to add your name to personalize your new planner completely.

  • Alternate Weekly Views

Erin Condren has three weekly layout options available. This is so important because you want to select a design that will fit your lifestyle.

  1. Vertical: Three sections underneath each day of the week. You can label each box whatever you would like (e.g. morning, afternoon, night). This weekly layout is best for someone who has more freedom when it comes to planning their day.
  2. Horizontal: One individual box for each day. My least favorite option because it seems that everything would run together. Someone who only has one or two reminders per day might enjoy this layout.
  3. Hourly: My favorite option because I can block out exact times each day for appointments and projects. A great layout for freelancers and students who have hard deadlines to meet.

  • Goal Planning

A section like this one is important because it allows you to plan out ways to achieve goals. I have included goals for my blogging business each month. So options are endless for goal planning depending on what you would like to focus on each month.

  • Notes Section

I constantly have thoughts running through my mind. The best way for me to organize my thoughts is by jotting them down on a piece of paper. I love using the notes section because I can get my ideas out and on paper. To remember everything, I have to write it all down.

How To Organize Your Planner

  • Add Important Dates

First of all, when you get a new planner, you need to add any important dates for the year. So take some time to add any significant events that are coming up (birthdays, vacations, weddings, work trips, etc.). We have to remember dates to organize our life.

  • Decorate Your Planner

Most of all I love to add my personal touch to my life planner by decorating it. I decorate my Erin Condren with stickers (my favorite) and accessories to give it flair. There is something about being creative that makes using your planner more enjoyable. As a result, I look forward to using it daily which allows me to stay on top of things

  • Plan Your Week

Find a schedule that works best for you. For example, if you do not work the same hours daily an hourly schedule is probably not for you. So it is necessary to know yourself before creating a set schedule. You need to select a weekly layout that helps to organize your life in the best way.

  • To Do List

I am a huge fan of to-do lists. The snap on to do list that is available is the perfect companion to my weekly layout. I use this accessory every single day, and it helps me to organize my day. I start with to do list for the day then I fill in the hours afterward.

  • Color Coding

Color coding is probably my favorite way to organize my life. Almost every category in my life has a color, so I do not miss anything. For example, red is for medical. So anytime I see the color red, I know that it is something medical (doctor visits, dentist appointment, etc.). I promise that this method is fantastic for the organization.

  • Update Planner Weekly

Pick a day of the week to update your planner for the following week. I love to work on my planner on Sundays because I want everything to be ready for Monday. Updating your planner weekly will end up being a lifesaver that helps you stay on track.
